About

In the midst of a horse race, it’s easy to forget exactly why elections matter so much. This blog is here to serve as a clearinghouse for the myriad reasons we can’t sit idly by and watch John McCain become president.

Why focus on women? I think this quote from West Wing (uttered by the inimitable MLP) sums it up: “If women were the only voters, the Democrats would win in a landslide every time. If men were the only voters, the GOP would be the left-wing party.” Women forget how much power we have, and right-wing politicians ruthlessly take advantage of that. We have to stop letting them.

And who am I? I’m Kate. I live in San Francisco, where I spend my work time doing non-partisan activism for CREDO Mobile and my free time writing screenplays, critiquing fashion and imbibing champagne. Hope you enjoy this blog – feel free to comment on the posts, leave feedback below or shoot me an e-mail. See you at Barack’s inaugural ball!

This is amazing. I had no idea that the blog was yours. It’s great!!!I knew that you’d make it big after your writing and directing the Thanksgiving play last year. You make us proud. Put me on your subscriber list. I’d like to read the piece that Marcy wrote.

As usual, Kate hits the point exactly, and does it with panache and humor! This point of view is so desperately needed in the mainstream.
